Stay Home, Stay Fit

Since the start of our so-called “Covid life”, we were all advised by our government officials to stay at home. While it may seem adjunct to a lot of psychological side effects to keep our sanity, the majority of the people have used this time to turn to different sanity-driven hobbies such as home decorations, home plants, pottery and so on and so forth. Others have used this time to catch up with their physical fitness and improve their overall immune system.

Some people are lucky to have gyms in their homes or even their neighborhood, like ASHFORD COMMUNITIES in Houston, Texas, they got your back when it comes to home gyms, while others do not. But keep in mind that staying fit can be done anytime and anywhere. You can even use your furniture and/or appliances as substitutes to gym equipment. This is the time where you have to use your creativity in order to improvise on things.

Consistency is key to staying fit

Whether it’s weightlifting, cardio, yoga, Hiit or even calisthenics, you have to exert time and effort consistently to see results. Just remember that whatever your fitness goals are you should always start by working out at your own pace. You can’t just go on full throttle immediately because it can lead to injury and you don’t want that. It’s actually a good thing that there are a number of available free apps that you can download on your phone to help you stay fit during these times.

Apps

Apps like:

  • Burpee Trainer
  • Daily Fitness workout trainer
  • Seven – 7- minute workout
  • 30-day squat challenge
  • Daily yoga

…and other free exercise apps that you can download, can also help you stay on track with your fitness goals.

“Abs are made in the kitchen.” As the saying goes…This statement actually reminds us that even if you exhaust yourself in the gym for more than 60 minutes a day, if you eat like it’s free-flowing food after you workout, then you just wasted your time and effort from working out. Not only will you gain fat, but you will actually gain double the fat. Because when you workout, you actually micro-tear your muscles, which means you need to recover by eating the right food.

Food Diary

Keeping a food diary will help you monitor the nutrition you need from what you eat and will also help you with your fitness goals. Whether it’s building strength, shredding fat or muscle toning. It’s a good thing that there are a lot of food diary apps that can help you track your macros. The most common food diary app that has a large database of foods that you can think of is MYFITNESSPAL. It gives you the required amount of food intake based on your height, weight, age and fitness goal.

We own our time, use it wisely

The silver lining during this pandemic time is that we all have a lot of time in our hands. Use it wisely. Think of it as a reset to all that you are planning to do but can’t because you don’t have the time.
