Ashford Cares: Celebrating Women’s Month

March is Women’s History Month, and people around the world celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8th. It’s a time to acknowledge women’s significant contributions to society and strive for gender equality and empowerment for all women worldwide. Let’s celebrate women’s achievements and resilience while working towards a more equitable and just world.

Ashford Communities and Women’s Month

At Ashford Communities, we fully support and celebrate Women’s Month. We recognize the many contributions women have made to society and the ongoing struggles and challenges they face.

Women’s Contribution to Different Fields

Despite gender-based discrimination, inequality, and violence, women have made significant contributions in many fields, breaking down barriers and stereotypes. Women’s Month is an opportunity to recognize these achievements, promote gender equality, and empower women.

Importance of Recognizing Women

Women’s Month is an opportunity to recognize women’s achievements, promote gender equality, and empower women. It is also a time to consider the ongoing work that needs to be done to ensure that all women have the resources and opportunities they need to reach their full potential.

Women at Ashford Communities

Women make up 40% of our workforce at Ashford Communities. Each week during Women’s History Month, we highlight one amazing woman who works on our team. We gather information about her achievements, speak with her coworkers or supervisor to learn more about her contributions, and write a tribute highlighting her accomplishments and contributions. We share these tributes on our social media pages to commemorate Women’s History Month and recognize our female employees’ contributions.

Women’s History Month can be observed in a variety of ways that honor women’s contributions throughout history. Here are a few suggestions:

  • Read books, watch documentaries, and listen to podcasts about women who have made significant contributions in various fields to learn more about their history and achievements. Visit museums, libraries, and other cultural institutions to conduct research and learn about women’s history.
  • Support women-owned businesses by looking for and supporting female-owned businesses in your area, or by donating to organizations that promote women’s economic empowerment.
  • Look for events in your community that celebrate women’s history, achievements, and culture and attend them. Lecture series, film screenings, panel discussions, and musical performances are all possibilities. During Women’s History Month, many organizations and communities host events such as art exhibits, film screenings, and panel discussions.
  • Volunteer with organizations that assist women with a variety of tasks. Many nonprofits and charities work to improve women’s and girls’ lives, and they frequently require volunteers.
