Ways to Celebrate Women’s Month

Every year the U.S. recognizes March as Women’s History Month, in this blog you will learn ways how to celebrate women.

  1. Know and Explore Women’s Human Rights

If you don’t know the history of human rights now is the perfect time to learn. “Providing Healing, Promoting Hope” is this year’s women’s month theme. This is a tribute to the tireless work of caregivers, frontline workers, and essential workers during this ongoing pandemic and also recognizes the women who have provided healing and hope throughout our history.

  1.  Be aware of the issues women face today

Thru these years, women have made huge progress in our society, but even up to this date there are still areas where they face barriers due to their gender. Women, for example, bear the majority of household and childcare responsibilities, face workplace discrimination, double standards, and some continue to earn less than men on average. Not to mention the domestic abuse, sexual harassment, human trafficking, rape culture, and harmful beauty standards. These are just a few things women go thru this day, being aware and helping promote gender equality is more than enough help to break these standards.

  1.  Support women-owned businesses

Supporting businesses small or big that are owned, operated, built, and controlled by women is a big help towards equal economic empowerment. As simple as buying or even just posting their stuff online is a big help and support on their business.

  1. Donate or support organization that helps women in need

If you’re looking for a way to make a difference in a worthy cause this March, consider donating to a charitable organization supporting women – either locally or globally. There are a lot of non-profit organizations out there that work to help women empower themselves and advocate gender equality. All of them could use every help big or small that they could have.

  1. Acknowledge the awesome women in your life

Simple words of encouragement and love can sometimes go a long way toward lifting someone up and inspiring them to keep going. Send a text, call, or Facetime to an important woman in your life, whether it’s your mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, girlfriend, or friend, to tell them how wonderful they are.
